How to get your Royal Mail Click & Drop API key

Each button opens the right page on the other company's site in a new tab, so you can keep these steps open beside it.

Steps

These are the same steps you see beside the settings in your shop's back office.

1. Press Open Click & Drop and sign in to your Royal Mail Click & Drop account. No account yet? Sign up there first: it's free, and you pay Royal Mail for postage as you do now.
2. At the top, go to Settings, then Integrations.
3. Press Add (or Add a new integration) and choose Click & Drop API.
4. Fill in Trading name (your shop name, for example your shop name) and Integration name, for example Tillzy. Press Save.
5. Back on the Integrations list, press the Click & Drop API row to open it. Your auth key is shown there. Copy it.
6. Paste it into Click & Drop API key below. Under Your Click & Drop account, pick Business account if Royal Mail sends you a monthly bill (OBA), or Pay as you go if you pay for postage by card in Click & Drop. Not sure? Leave it on Not sure: Tillzy finds out on the first label.
7. Tick Enable on orders and press Save and check, then Test any time. The badge at the top turns to On when it works.

Good to know

Click & Drop allows only one API integration per account. If you delete it and add it again, the key changes: paste the new one here. Business accounts get labels and tracking straight back here. Pay-as-you-go accounts can send orders here but Royal Mail only lets them print labels inside Click & Drop. Keep the key private: only paste it into this page.
