5 steps ยท Last checked 11 October 2026
What to open
Each button opens the right page on the other company's site in a new tab, so you can keep these steps open beside it.
Steps
These are the same steps you see beside the settings in your shop's back office.
- Most shops don't need this: Analytics and Ads above work on their own. Use Tag Manager if a marketing agency asks for it.
- Press Open Google Tag Manager, sign in and press Create account.
- Account name: your shop name. Country: United Kingdom. Container name:
your shop's web address. Target platform: Web. Press Create and accept the terms. - Google shows the install code. Close it and copy the ID at the top of the page, starting with
GTM-. - Paste it into Tag Manager container ID here and press Save. Remember to press Submit in Tag Manager each time you change tags there.
Where it goes in Tillzy
In your shop's back office the same steps sit beside the boxes you fill in. This is a made-up demo shop.
Good to know
Don't add Google Analytics both here and inside Tag Manager, or every visit is counted twice. Shop events (view_item, add_to_cart, purchase) are sent to the data layer for Tag Manager to use.
